Student Loan Consolidation Rates

we have 3 credit cards with 15K debt and paying average 15% APR …and we think we should try for debt consolidation personal loan which doesn’t require any collateral or home equity…so based on experience can you please suggest which bank we should contact for such loan?

With bad credit and being unemployed I need a loan to pay off a small amount of debt and a tuition for a 6 month education course so I can put myself in a better employment situation. Where could I find such a bank or company that would help me. I’m not eligable for government help, I earned too much money last year. Please, any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all. I graduated college last May and will begin repayment on my loans starting in November. I have 7 federal student loans, totaling about $62,000 and 1 private student loan totaling about $8,000. Many places are not offering federal student loan consolidation any more, and I only have one private student loan so it doesn’t make sense to take out a private consolidation loan. As of right now, my payments are going to be about $800 monthly starting in November. I can’t afford that! What can I do?

i have a lot of student loan debt and want to consolidate. however, i’m sure that because it is a private loan they’re going to run my credit. do you know what is the lowest score i can have to consolidate?
I don’t need debt management- my bad credit is the result of the ratio between my income and huge student loans. This totally messes with your credit. I’m working with a law firm to get this under control. I just need to consolidate my loans and while I can wait until my credit improves, I want to start saving money now.

I am looking to consolidate private loans from Sallie Mae. I am looking at a fixed rate. I know Citibank offers one and Education Finance Partners. Any advice on these companies regarding this or suggestions?

My student loan was consolidated in 1998-1999. They are stafford loans, used to pay for my law school education. My interest rate is at 8.25%, and apart from decreasing the interest rate by .25% with online payment, Sallie Mae/Bank One has offered me no other options, since my loans are already consolidated. Any options, other than to take out a new private loan for consolidation?

I previously posted a question re: my husband being a co-signer on his father house. He is in a bind where he has two delinquent accounts that he was trying to get one loan and pay for. Being that this house is on his credit he can not get approved for a loan.

I do not know what else to do but debt consolidation. The two bills are of high interest and I am running out of ideas. Please someone help

She wants me to begin paying it back but I noticed the thing is actually 3 seperate loans and all have 8.02% interest. My school loans only have 2.6%. I tried the consolidation calculators on the website and it did not improve the interest rate only lowered the payment. Any ideas on how to get a significantly lower interest rate?

I have a government loan (the Ford Subsidized Loan) and a private loan (the SELF loan). I was told that I couldn’t consolidate with a federal and a private loan. Is this true? Can anyone give me any insight to student loan consolidation?

My loan payments will be starting in early December for the Ford loan, so I would like to figure it out ASAP. I have an excellent credit rating and I have always made my loan interest payments on time. I don’t know if that helps or makes a difference. Thanks!!

So I think I’m not quite in debt like some people I’ve heard talk about themselves being $10,000 or more in debt. I’m approximately $3,400 in debt to 2 credit cards, 1 apartment for damages after we moved out, 1 for Directv, 1 for my cell phone, and I owe my local preist about $350. At t he time I was going through such a financial mayhem and I wasn’t able to pay any of my bills. I was doing fine with everything until I quit school, the money stop coming and my job wasn’t enough. Does anyone know how to get out of debt. I have a job now but I’m so busy paying for my current bills, my 2 stepson’s tuition, my college tuition, & my daughter’s needs. I’m no one to complain of my husband because he’s a full time student and full time father to the children while I’m the financial supporter and part time student. I think my husband getting a job would help but then again I strongly support his education. I heard that debt consolidation is only going to worsen things and I’m avoiding that. ??
